"City Steps: Exploring Pittsburgh's Ups and Downs"
In this illustrated talk, Laura Zurowski and co-authors Charles Succop and Matthew Jacob will present a new history and guide to Pittsburgh's city steps. They will show how the city's network of public stairways became its first mass transit system and how, now that the smoke has cleared, they lead to spectacular vistas of our neighborhoods and rivers. A book sale and signing for "City Steps of Pittsburgh: A History & Guide" will follow.
The Marilyn Evert Lecture Series, a free event, is named for its late founder, anthropologist and art historian Marilyn Evert.
